Tyson (1995 film)

Tyson is a 1995 American television film based on the life of American heavyweight boxer Mike Tyson. Directed by Uli Edel, it is an adaptation of the 1989 book Fire and Fear The Inside Story of Mike Tyson by Jos Torres, former boxer and former chairman of the New York State Athletic Commission. The film depicts events from Tysons troubled childhood in Brooklyn through his conviction in 1992 for the rape of beauty pageant contestant Desiree Washington.

Mike Tyson Michael Jai White grows up a troubled youth who shows promise in the boxing ring. Manager and trainer Cus DAmato George C. Scott begins turning the young Tyson into an undefeated fighter. However, Tyson is a difficult pupil who often gets into trouble and slacks on his training.DAmato surrounds Tyson with a group of trusted people, including managers Jimmy Jacobs Tony Lo Bianco, Bill Cayton James Sikking and trainer Kevin Rooney Clark Gregg. DAmato tells Tyson that if he keeps good people nearby they can keep him out of trouble. ........
